The new season for Brittany Ferries begins in Plymouth with the first Channel sailing of its flagship, the PONT-AVEN, into Millbay Docks this evening.

The return of the iconic ship also highlights the transformation of the historic docks at West Wharf by Associated British Ports (ABP).

Westward Shipping News has been covering stories on Millbay Docks over the last year and the £23 million transformation programme going on in the port.
The works included a new passenger boarding bridge, works on the wharf, upgrades in the ABP terminal building, and other long-term enhancements designed to encourage more cargo freight, cruise ship visitors, and the port’s green credentials.

As the first Brittany Ferries ship of the year, the PONT-AVEN is a welcome sight to our many followers on our live webcam tonight.

Brittany Ferries has been running services from Plymouth to Roscoff for over 52 years, as well as twice-weekly service to Santander in Northern Spain.
