A regular cruise ship visitor to Plymouth arrived early this morning in the Sound, the MS Amadea, and is now at anchor inside the breakwater. The ship has a capacity of over 600 passengers and 280 crew members.
Tender boats will take the tourists to the Barbican Landing Stage, where they will be met by volunteer cruise ambassadors and other city representatives & shore handlers.
The MS Amadea will be followed by the last scheduled cruise ship MS Amera on the 20th October 2026, another regular cruise ship visitor.

Amadea is a mid-sized cruise ship known for its German market focus and was the filming location for the long-running German TV series ‘Das Traumschiff.’
The ship, originally built in 1991 as MS Asuka, was sold in 2006 and re-named Amadea. It is operated under a time charter by Phoenix Reisen and sails under the flag of the Bahamas.
FAREWELL TO THE MS AMADEA
The MS Amadea set sail from the Sound around 2:30pm this afternoon passing the super-yacht Aviva at anchor.
Passengers on board packed the stern to see their final images of the Hoe foreshore—and watch the Plymouth pilot boat guide the ship out beyond the breakwater.
The final scheduled cruise ship to visit Plymouth next month is the MS Amera on the 20th of October.
