THE LYNHER FERRY OFF TO FALMOUTH

The weather has improved over the last few days, and the Lynher Ferry left from Torpoint at lunchtime and is now on its way for its 5-yearly refit in Falmouth.

Serco vessels are escorting the Torpoint ferry on a 6-hour journey down the coast to Falmouth, where it will go into dry dock.

Our webcam spotted the Lynher in the Sound being escorted by Serco vessels near the Plymouth Breakwater.

The Lynher is currently due to return to service at the end of May, and during the refit period the service is being provided by the two remaining ferries, one leaving each side of the river every 15 minutes (on the hour and 15, 30 and 45 minutes past the hour), between 6.30am and 10pm, and a single half-hourly night service ferry from 10pm to 6.30am.

Regular updates on the service are being provided on the Tamar Crossings website and social media platforms: www.tamarcrossings.org.uk
