LAST JOURNEY FOR HMS ENTERPRISE

Devon built ship HMS Enterprise is getting ready for her countdown to decommissioning.

The ship returned to Devonport today after holding affiliates day, and will decommission in Portsmouth at the end of the month.

HMS Enterprise is a multi-role survey vessel and was launched at the Appledore Ship Yard in 2003.

At the start of the millennium she was the most modern survey ship in the fleet with her sister ship HMS Echo.

This weekend families of the crew will be welcomed on board HMS Enterprise for the last time with a day at sea that will end with her last entry into Devonport Dockyard with a fanfare of flags, horns and noise to celebrate her loyal service to the Royal Navy.

You can see her last journey in the Sound live on our Webcam tomorrow.
