Welcome home to Plymouth based HMS Richmond captured on our 24 webcam this morning – back from JEF activities in the Baltic practicing under water surveillance and #JEFtogetherPGG Hanko Securing Underwater Infrastructure.
HMS Richmond was deployed to the Baltic to work with partner nations, bolster regional security and protect vital underwater infrastructure.
The Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) includes the deployment of HMS Somerset, offshore patrol vessels HMS Tyne, HMS Severn, HMS Cattistock, HMS Penzance, and RFA Mounts Bay that left Plymouth yesterday – supported by the RAF Force of P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.

While on deployment HMS Richmond boosted UK diplomatic and military relationships with JEF partners by hosting delegates on board to discuss ideas on regional security. The (JEF) is made up of ten like-minded nations led by the UK – and includes Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Sweden.
The intercession force will react to events in northern Europe’s waters, ready to respond to crises and world events, and ready for any eventuality, with training and exercises in regularly working together.
