COUNTDOWN TO OCEAN LINER VISITS 2025

The countdown for another great season in Plymouth starts in March and finishes in September 2025.

10 cruise ships are now expected to call on the waterfront city.

The British and European cruise season starts in earnest from March/April when global cruise liner operators position their cruise ships into European locations for the competitive cruise liner market and coastal location visits.

Westward Shipping News captured all cruise visitors to the Sound in 2023/2024 on our live streaming webcam and is looking forward to doing the same in 2025.

The list of the ocean liners visiting the city has been announced, and three iconic vessels are making a return, including Ambition, Spirit of Adventure, and Silver Dawn.

Amanda Lumley, Chief Executive of Destination Plymouth, said: “We are excited about this year’s cruise season, and Plymouth is working tirelessly to cement our reputation as a must-visit port for cruise liners.”

“The city’s welcome ceremonies and ‘Cruise Ship Volunteers,’ together with all the city partners working behind the scenes to ensure the success of these visits, are crucial,” she said.

The South West cruise industry is growing, and Plymouth is working hard to increase its share of a very competitive tourist market sector.

Millbay Docks (ABP), which runs the historic port, has invested in a new state-of-the-art Seaport Passenger Bridge on the West Wharf, with the remaining section due to be finished soon.
