The large crane the Devon Samson has been moored up and disused for sometime in 4 Basin of the Dockyard, and been finally sold says a Westward Shipping News reader.

The Devon Samson is a Crane Ship that was built in 1963 (60 years ago).

Her carrying capacity is 122 t DWT and her current draught is reported to be null meters.

The length overall of the Devon Samson (LOA) is 54.87 meters and her width is 17.86 meters.

Devon Samson used to be called London Samson and was built for the Port of London Authority in the early to mid 60’s, and had her name changed when she came to Plymouth.
