The big attraction on the historic Barbican this holiday weekend is the impressive Dutch square-rigged tall ship the Morgenster.
She arrived earlier this week and now settled alongside at the Barbican Landing Stage until Monday 31st August.
Her beautiful towering masts, traditional rigging and classic look will be a big draw for people looking to visit the majestic tall ship over the Bank holiday.
The Morgenster is certainly worth looking out for if your down on the quay, and quite a striking silhouette against the Barbican, Mountbatten skyline this morning while taking our pictures.
The illustrious vessel has had quite a career since it was built in 1919 has a herring lugger called the Vrouw Maria.
Her commercial fishing story ended in 1970, and was then used as a tender ship for a Radio Ship called Mi Amigo from 1973 to 1974.
After a decade of poor maintenance the ship was finally brought back to life has a grandeur tall ship by a very sympathetic Minister Maria van der Hoeve, and Marian and Harry Muter.
