HMS SCOTT INBOUND TO DEVONPORT

HMS Scott the Royal Navy’s ocean survey vessel was spotted on our live webcams inbound to HMNB Devonport this morning.

The Navy’s fifth biggest ship recently completed her Ship Life Extension Programme (SLEP) and back at sea. The refit began in September 2024 and involved significant upgrades and maintenance work.

Upgrades on the ship included the main engine, installation of new water management systems, sewage treatment plants, and LED Lighting throughout the ship.

HMS Scott will continue in service until 2033, and maintaining British capability to survey the world’s deepest and secluded oceans with advanced sonar systems.
