HMS Portland conducting a boat transfer in Plymouth Sound earlier this morning with a break in the weather.
It’s been a busy year for the Royal Navy warship tracking Russian submarines in the North Sea with her specialist Merlin helicopter and cutting edge-sonars, sensors, and torpedoes for submarine-hunting operations.
HMS Portland is armed with Sea Ceptor missiles, Harpoon launchers anti-ship missiles, Sting Ray torpedo tubes, Mk 8 naval gun, Mk2 automatic cannons, two miniguns, and four General-purpose machine guns.
