BANK HOLIDAY SHIPPING MOVEMENTS

Early morning visitors to the Port of Plymouth this morning included the Gibraltar oil/chemical tanker the Anton and the Cyprus cement vessel the Cemvale.

Cement carriers – are single-skin or double-skin bulk carriers provided with a cement loading and discharging plant. Most vessels of this type use the principle that when air is pumped through a cement cargo, it acts as if it were liquid.

Also on her FOST Training and leaving the Sound early this morning was HMS Dauntless.

The crew conducted a successful non-combatant evacuation training session operation 3 days ago as part of its @FOST programme. Over 40 people were safely evacuated from a “hostile environment” it said on its Twitter Feed.
