Tight security in the Sound this morning for HMS Astute, the Royal Navy’s nuclear-powered attack submarine spotted on our live webcam.
It is speculated the £1 billion submarine will be joining the UK’s carrier group leaving for the Far East this week. The length of 10 double-decker buses is 97 metres.
The Royal Navy’s top submarine was recently involved in a mission tracking a Russian spy ship, the Yanta, off the coast of the UK and surfaced near the Russian vessel in a clear message from the British government to stop spying on British undersea cables.
