Fresh from monitoring a Russian warship and two shadow fleet tankers in the English Channel, the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Tideforce arrived in the Sound this afternoon.

The Russian group sailed towards Plymouth (dated 8th April) and included the heavily armed Black Sea fleet frigate Admiral Grigorovich, with RFA Tideforce trailing behind the Russian ships.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer last month gave the UK’s special forces the authority to capture illegally ferrying oil tankers supporting Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Moscow has warned it would retaliate if the British military were deployed to seize its ships in UK waters.
