THE RETURN OF THE SILVER DAWN

A welcome return of the impressive Silver Dawn cruise ship is at anchor near the Plymouth Breakwater today until 5 p.m.

You can watch all the latest live images on our streaming service.

The luxurious 11-deck vessel was spotted at 6.47 a.m, and escorted by the Plymouth Pilot Boat inside the Breakwater.

The Bahamas-registered vessel has 11 decks, is owned by Silversea Cruises, and boasts sumptuous suites, global tours, and cutting-edge design and technology.

The three-year-old vessel was built at a cost of about £275 million and is visiting the city on a whistle-stop visit.

Over 2,000 viewers watched on our webcam this morning as the tender boats lowered to take many of the 600 passengers ashore to the Barbican Landing Stage, where they received Plymouth’s now famous welcome ceremonies.

The Volunteer Cruise Ambassadors, Town Crier, Maritime Corps of Drums, and support from the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, together with other shore handlers, helped the tourists looking to visit local attractions, go on shopping expeditions, and travel outside the city on excursions.
