Westward Shipping News will be sailing on the last voyage of the MV Bretagne this weekend.
The final sailing will be on Sunday, 3 November, from Portsmouth to St. Malo, and the celebration cruise is called the ‘Grand Finale’ of a much loved passenger and cargo ship that has been serving the Channel Link for many years.
Brittany Ferries is putting on a fantastic show of Breton dance, culture, and music that will be an unforgettable trip.
The Bretagne is being replaced by the Saint-Malo, a hybrid-electric ferry that will begin sailing in the New Year on the Portsmouth-St-Malo route.
Westward Shipping News will be recording the last journey and its farewell cruise across the channel for the last time.
The MV Bretagne was one of the first true cruise ferries to offer cruise-type facilities.
It was launched on the 4th of February 1989 and made its maiden voyage on the 16th of July 1989, at a cost of £55 million pounds.
