One of the world’s most iconic famous sailing boats, the Jolie Brise, arrived in the choppy waters of the Sound this evening.

The sailing boat is the finest example of a pilot cutter design for speed and was spotted on our live webcam making its way into the Plymouth Cattewater and will berth at the Barbican Landing Stage.
Award-winning Jolie Brice will be marking 100 years since her 1925 victory in the very first Fastnet Race and the only boat to win three times.

Today the Jolie Brise is well known for her Tall Ships accolades and overall wins in various categories in 1980, 2000, 2011, 2015, and 2016.
The Jolie Brise has sailed the high seas from the Arctic Circle and crossed the huge Atlantic Ocean many times.

It is a historic visit to the city to celebrate the boat’s centenary of its first Fastnet Race.
