The Fleet Ready Escort HMS Portland inbound to Devonport this afternoon after a busy period visiting cities in the north of England and Scotland including; Liverpool, Newcastle, Dundee, Aberdeen and Faslane.
She was recently deployed to track the Russian Gorshkov-class guided missile frigate, Admiral Kasatonov, and its support tanker the Akademik Pashin – as they headed up the English Channel towards the North Sea.
HMS Portland has a Merlin helicopter equipped with cutting-edge sonars, sensors, and torpedoes for specialist operations with a displacement of 4,900 tons.
