Specialist techno ship the THV Galatea was inbound in the Sound this evening and being guided by the Plymouth Pilot boat.
The THV Galatea at 84m long with a service speed of 12 knots, is fitted to the highest and most modern technical standards.
The huge techno vessel undertakes marine hazard search and marking, lifting, towing and accurate positioning of marine equipment. She Also does recovery, re-establishment of off-station aids to navigation, and sea trials of electronic and specialty equipment.
