PLYMOUTH WATERS FOR EXERCISE KONKAN 2026

The Indian Navy’s frigate INS TRISHUL at the Plymouth breakwater this morning.

INS TRISHUL arrived on the 8th October to participate in Exercise KONKAN-26 with the Royal Navy.

The naval showcase is an annual bilateral maritime relationship between the UK and India that goes back two decades.

Exercise KONKAN 2026 is being conducted off Plymouth in two phases that started on the 8th Oct to the 15 Oct 2026.

The ships visit includes a broad spectrum of professional interactions like Dartmouth Naval College, cross-deck visits, sports fixtures, cultural engagements and the ship being open to visitors.

A Sea Phase will encompass complex maritime operational drills across all three domains – air, surface and sub-surface.

Flying operations involving cross-deck landings, firing serials, air defence exercises, complex seamanship evolutions and anti-submarine exercises will add further complexity to this edition of Exercise KONKAN.
