Brittany Ferries is running a couple of December sailings from Plymouth to the historic town of St Malo in December 2025.
The company says it’s testing the waters to see if people are interested in travelling the route from Plymouth’s Millbay Docks.
There will be more crossings in the New Year, including a Valentine’s Day special, and crossings from Plymouth to Roscoff will continue through the winter.

Meanwhile, the demand for travel with pets has soared since the last pre-Covid year, and last year Brittany Ferries carried 108,000 cats and dogs compared with 98,000 in 2019.
Since 2019, the number of pet cabins has been boosted from 66 to 162 — a 145% increase—and, says the company, all thanks to a combination of converting cabins on long-serving ships and the arrival of new ferries fitted with more pet cabins.
Recently the flagship of the fleet the MV Pont Aven spent nearly 3 day’s of resting up in the Sound at the Plymouth breakwater.
