It was an early morning call for Plymouth’s third cruise visitor of 2025, with the impressive Spirit of Adventure making its way into the Plymouth Breakwater this morning.

The 55,900-tonne ship operated by Saga Cruises weighed anchor at 7am and was escorted by the Plymouth Pilot Boat.

Passengers were ferried on tender boats to the Barbican Landing Stage throughout the day and were met by volunteer cruise ambassadors and city cruise partnership representatives.
The city has gained an international reputation for its ‘Welcome Ceremonies’ in meeting and greeting cruise visitors.

The luxurious cruise ship was a major attraction on our live webcam today and can accommodate up to 987 guests and is crewed by 540 staff.
It is the maiden voyage of the Norwegian Pearl to Plymouth, arriving on the 6th of May at 10:30am, and will drop anchor inside the Breakwater.
The Norwegian Pearl is a Jewel-class ship of the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and launched in 2006 and primarily sails around Alaska and the Caribbean.

The Spirit of Adventure departed at 5pm and was once again escorted out of the Sound by the Plymouth Pilot Boat.
