The MOD’s Strategic Sealift Ro-Ro Point Class Vessel MV Eddystone eases out across Plymouth Hoe early this morning with three tugs and police boats in escort.

MV Eddystone is a Point class roll-on/roll-off sealift ship that was originally procured under a Private Finance Initiative to be available for use as a naval auxiliary to the British armed forces, and three others are also in service with the military.

MV Hurst Point, MV Hartland Point, and MV Anvil Point are all named after British points and headlands.
