HMS Diamond back in Plymouth waters for the first time in seven months following her epic patrol in the Red Sea, intercepting smuggled weapons, and protecting global shipping.
As part of Operation Prosperity Guardian, an international task force initiated to protect merchant shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, HMS Diamond arrived in the Red Sea in December 2023 to protect and support key shipping lanes following the Houthis’ illegal attacks.
HMS Diamond is the third ship of the Type 45 or Daring-class air-defence guided missile destroyers and built for the Royal Navy and launched in 2007.
The ship was spotted on our live webcam this evening at anchor in Plymouth Sound taking on boat transfers in the Sound.
The warship is due back in Portsmouth this weekend.
