Even before the Labour Government’s Defence Review a decision to scrap HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark has been announced by the Defence Secretary.
The savings will also include decommissioning the Type 23 frigate HMS Northumberland and two Wave class tankers.
On the 13 August 2023, the Plymouth based HMS Northumberland returned home after taking part in a multi-national task group in the High North operating with partners from the Royal Norwegian and United States Navies.
