Well choreographed landing of a Wildcat Helicopter on HMS Medway in the Sound this afternoon.
There’s is no helicopter assigned to HMS Medway, but there is a flight deck, allowing the ship to serve as a ‘lily pad’ hosting helicopters temporarily, refuelling them, giving crews a break, transferring personnel and equipment.
The Portsmouth based Offshore Patrol Ship was operating in the Falkland Islands for most of 2023, compared to its usual patrols in the Caribbean.
