CELEBRATING 53 YEARS OF PLYMOUTH/ROSCOFF LINKS

Look Back Gallery dated 2nd January 2023 and the flagship of Brittany Ferries the MV Pont Aven, being escorted by Serco-Group tugs with water cannons into Millbay Docks Ferry Terminal.

The special occasion was celebrating the first crossing of the ferry links between Plymouth and Roscoff on the 2nd January 1973.

A converted tank carrier, the Kerisnel left the Brittany port of Roscoff carrying a cargo of cauliflowers and cognac and arrived in Plymouth with a fanfare of excitement. It was also the day that Britain joined the common market, now the EU.

Brittany Ferries are a part of the economic lifeblood of Plymouth & the South West economy, and our shipping followers on our live web streams love the inbound and outbound arrivals of the MV Armorique and MV Pont Aven.
