The crew at Westward Shipping News are thrilled to announce we’ve been awarded Maritime Media Company of the Year 2024/2025 by the South West England Prestige Awards.
This accolade is a great achievement in the year we celebrate 2 years since we launched Westward Shipping News, said Media Blogger Kevin Kelway.

Westward Shipping News was created during the UK’s two COVID lockdowns in the early 2020s, after recording all commercial and naval shipping movements on social media that generated UK and international interest in the Sound.
“We needed something to keep up our spirits at the time, and like many other people shut up indoors, we wanted to share the shipping movements along Plymouth’s beautiful waterfront, and we became a maritime community.”
